Cruise of the Pintail
I have just finished compiling a book based on Fonville's 1933-34 diarys and have signed with LSU Press to publish it. This story begins in Fort Worth on the start of his "Cruise" which goes from Morgan City to New Orleans to Grand Isle and back in 1933. In 1934, Fonville leaves Fort Worth to seek his fortunes in New Orleans and is persuaded to return to Grand Isle and then ends with his entry into LSU.
